Great restaurant and amazing sushi! Amazing sushi location! For dinner, arrive early as it gets difficult to find parking or a table! Simply one of the best sushi spots in Northern California.

This is probably one of the best sushi places I have ever eaten at. We started with the tuna sliders, which were tasty. I got the DMC lobster roll was good, though I am not sure I would spend that much unless a roll was out of this world. Now the Tommy Roll was definitely out of this world. Unbelievable! Look forward to coming back and trying more.

This is the "Mother Ship" where Mikuni's began. Always a synergy at this place even though Taro is someplace else . Without Mikuni's, Fair Oaks would be a boring place.

They have one of the best pan fried gyoza I've ever eaten! I ordered the incredible roll and it was ok. Nothing spectacular but not bad either. I think the size of the roll is also just right. They gave more value to the flavor, which I prefer, than making it jumbo size. I wouldn't mind coming back to try their other dishes. Their servers are very friendly too. The place was packed but the service was on top of things. We didn't have to wait long for our table, or getting our food served. Ambiance is casual, with families and adult getting together.

Came here Saturday night before heartstoppers. Food is good and consistent as downtown. Though I like this one more. The ambiance is calmer. Quieter. More romantic. Service was great. Recommend Tommy roll. Flaming shrooms. Lobster hand roll with butter

We (a group of 4) recently had lunch here. Our waiter was very friendly. Even though it wasn't crowded, it did take a while for our food to arrive (10-15 minutes). I had the Udon, but asked if I could substitute extra veggies for the chicken. He came back after I ordered to say that even though the menu says it includes vegetables, it didn't really have any, other than a few slices of green onion. So did I want even more green onion, or what? I said to include whatever other veggies they could. I got cabbage, thin carrot strips, broccoli, asparagus, onions, and possibly a few more. I enjoyed it, and felt it was a good sub for the chicken. It wasn't until I got home and looked at the receipt that I discovered there was a $4 upcharge. I can perhaps see adding a couple of bucks, but $4 seems excessive when subbing veggies for chicken. At the least, I should have been told in advance. My husband had Yasai Itame (Stir Fry Veggies with Teriyaki Sauce) with a sub of brown rice for white rice (upcharge of $1, which is quite reasonable). He found the sauce a bit too salty for his tastes, but it also had some sweetness. The veggie selection was very good, with many of the same veggies I got for my Udon, and a few more. Overall he said it was good enough to order again. In short, it's what I expect from Mikuni. Good service, good enough food, and willing to customize (at a price!). Still a 3.5* after all these years, rounding up to 4.
